The Veteran Croatian midfielder Luka Modric seems to have found a new rhythm at the age of 35 with the current La Liga Champion Real Madrid. He scored two consecutive outrageous goals against Shakhtar at the Champions League and against Barcelona in El Classico.

Alongside the formidable Midfield duo Tony Kross and Casemiro, he is enjoying a brilliant start to La Liga. In a recent interview, the 35-year-old was asked about his interview.

He was asked about his contract extension with real Madrid.

Luka Modric:  “I still have a year left in Madrid and then we'll see what happens. I feel good and I want to continue playing football for a few more years. I am focused on Madrid and the things we can achieve this season. I'll sit with the club after this season”

When he was asked about Tottenham return like his former compatriot Gareth Bale he said: “I'm too old to go back to Tottenham”

Then he was asked about coaching and assisting Zinedine Zidane.

“If you make me choose a coach, I'll stick with Zidane. My relationship with him is more special than with anyone else and we have won a lot together. Zidane likes to call you to his office to tell you what you should do more, how you should play.”

His relationship with the 5times Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo was much speculated after his 2018 Ballon d’Or win. But he denied everything and said he still maintains a good relationship with his former teammate with who he won numerous trophies and shared great memories.

“Cristiano congratulated me when I won the Ballon d'Or - we keep in touch because playing with him was incredible and special. He was so demanding... during the games he wanted everyone to give their best and he motivated us."
