“It is like that! It’s like that in training and it’s like that game by game. It’s always a blessing to have players like that but the work comes from the whole team and it comes from the back from the goalkeeper to the striker. We’re all one and when you have players with such quality it’s always that little bit easier.”- Hector Bellerin on whether his jaw ever hits the floor when he’s watching Ozil. Arguably one of the finest players of our generation Mesut Ozil was not included for the Premier League squad and the Europa League squad this season. So is this the end for Ozil at Arsenal?
Ozil has won an innumerable number of accolades in his career so far which includes La Liga, Copa Del Rey, multiple FA Cup and a World Cup just to name a few. He has also won multiple individual accolades such as German Player of the year award in 2011,2012,2013,2015 and in 2016. He was an integral part in both the 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP and the UEFA EURO 2012, where he starred as the joint-highest assist provider in both the competitions.
At 32, being left out of both the Premier League and the Europa league squads doesn’t show a bright prospect for the club legend. . Despite this, Ozil has remained faithful to the club and continues to remain loyal to it. However with the current situation under the Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta, surely Ozil knows that his time at the club is coming to an end
What the future holds
With his arsenal days coming to an end, Ozil has been linked with a rather ambitious move to his old club Real Madrid which seems highly unlikely. A move to the MLS seems very likely with DC United becoming the latest team with the ace.
Even though the future is uncertain, one thing that is to be linked certain is that no matter where he goes, he will mesmerise all of us with is beautiful, the almost magical and effortless style of football.
