At only 16 years and 1 day old, Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko became the youngest player in the history of Bundesliga. He was introduced in the second half to replace Erling Haland against Hertha Berlin.

Who is Youssoufa Moukoko?
Youssoufa Moukoko is a German Footballer born in 2004 in Cameron. He currently plays for Borussia Dortmund. He is also the youngest Bundesliga player ever at 16 years and 1 day old.
Moukoko was always considered a special talent, he had scored 23 goals in 13 games as a striker in his first youth team St. Pauli. In 2016, Moukoko was transferred to the Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy.
He played in the U-17 team for Dortmund as a 13-year-old and quickly made up his way to the U-19 team at only aged 14. Moukoko scored 6 goals in his U-19 first match.
Moukoko is also, the youngest player to appear and score in the UEFA Youth League.
At only 15 years of age, Moukoko was allowed to train with Dortmund’s senior team under Lucien Favre.
Given the age restrictions of the Bundesliga, Moukoko had to wait for his 16th birthday to play for Dortmund’s senior team. He finally did so against Hertha Berlin hereby smashing the previous record held by another Dortmund youth academy product Nuri Sahin.

“He scored his goals everywhere and there will be no end. Youssoufa will break many records in the Bundesliga.”
“In an environment like Dortmund with so many young players, it’s a little easier for him. You can see that in Jude Bellingham, who as a 17-year old from England seems to have few problems keeping up with the level.”
